GREAT TREASURE

Hey, friend!  Thanks for coming! 

My verse today is Proverbs 4:20-22 - My child, pay attention to what I say.  Listen carefully to My words.  Don't lose sight of them.  Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.  


This verse is one of my favorites.  We are encouraged here to listen carefully to His words for they bring life to those who find them and healing to their whole body.  When I saw the word find in this verse, it made me think of treasure, something of great value, something worth searching for.  His word is full of great treasure that we are blessed to find, to discover.  God's word is living and full of power (Hebrews 4:12 NKJV).  It awakens us, revives us.  It brings life and health, power and wisdom, provision, and even correction when needed (just like a good father does😊💕).  It just keeps giving, changing us, reminding us, loving us.  The answers we search for are here, right in His word. 

The picture above is an empty treasure chest.  Each of our treasure chests is going to look a little different.  What is it I need from Jesus?  What is it you're looking for?  His word is SO full of good gifts, valuable treasures and as I find them, I want to tuck them into my treasure chest so that I can keep them near to me, refer to them, pull them out when I need something specific.  And what I realize is that the more I read, the more I pray, the more I search →→ the more I find (Praise God 🙌). 

 In my imagination, I see a treasure chest that can't hold all I find, spilling over with the goodness of God and all His gifts. Take a minute to picture that in your mind.....Do you see it??  

May I never fail to pay attention to what He says.  May I hide His words in my heart.  May I breathe them in and allow them to work with power in my life.  May I always see His words as the treasure they are, valuable and precious, life-giving nuggets worthy of being searched out, worthy of being stored up, worthy of being shared.

Myrtle Beach

We just spent the last several days in Myrtle Beach.  The weather and the views were perfect!! And, of course, we ate well.  If you happen to visit: I think we would all recommend the Flying Fish. The food was SO good, and we may have eaten there twice to try a couple of other menu items 😉. The Grouper and the Seafood Linguini were our favorite Entrees. The Seafood Nachos were a big hit as well. The hubby loved the oysters, but I can't make myself try them😁.  We also tried the Chesapeake House, and it was good as well. The hush puppies and cinnamon rolls served before the meal were yummy!  Lulu’s had a super cute atmosphere. I wouldn’t say it was my favorite, though still good.  Barefoot Landing at Myrtle was a really beautiful place to eat and shop. Flying Fish and Lulu’s were both located there, and the baby had her first carousel ride there. This was such a good time of rest, relaxation, and laughter. Feelings

How are you feeling this morning, in this season of change? I don't know about you, but I sat down this morning thinking about how I feel  - a little tired, the weather is changing, getting darker earlier, less sunshine, affecting my motivation. Feelings of anxiousness and overwhelm seem to pop up this time of year for me (if I let them). But... You know I like to start my day by spending some time with Jesus and journaling, so I sat down to do just that. I opened my journal and the first thing I saw is something I wrote just 3 days ago !!  "I want my light to shine brighter than my feelings." How ironic, right?! This made me smile 😊😊 because that's exactly what I want! I don't want my feelings to dictate my days!! I want to dictate my feelings! HOW? God is a Good God

 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! (Psalm 34:8) Good morning, friends! I had something on my mind and wanted to share it with you. One of our granddaughters recently got hurt, and it hurt my heart so deeply for her. Since that day, I have wanted nothing more than to see her, hold her, be close to her, tell her how much her Mimi loves her. I didn’t cause her to get hurt. It was an accident and accidents happen. But, man, I just wanted to fix it, to lay my hands on her, pray for her. I know that her resilience and quick healing is because of the good God we serve.   We spent the afternoon with her on Sunday and after we left, I was thinking about her and God spoke something to my heart. He told me that He feels exactly the same way when I hurt. He isn’t the cause of my pain, sickness, etc. But when I do hurt, He wants nothing more than to comfort me, be close to me, hold me.
