A LITTLE GIRL'S DANCE
I lift my eyes to the mountains - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2
HELP is defined as to give assistance or support. To provide someone with something that is useful or necessary in achieving an end.
When I have a moment of discouragement, I have to remind myself where my help comes from☝. My worries are null and void when I'm reminded He provides what is necessary. He will never tell me to move without providing what I need, even when I can't see it. And yet, I still hesitate.
Lysa Terkeurst titled my devotion today "A Little Girl's Dance." I remember so well singing and dancing for Jesus in front of my mother's full-length mirror as a little girl. Oh man, I loved him even then 💕. I danced and sang...just a little girl who felt confident and able, so she did. I bet some of you remember a little girl just like that.
I try to remember her. That little girl who used to twirl an umbrella and sing in the rain. That little girl who didn't know she would soon fall short in the eyes of the world, that her excitement to dance and sing might fade a little, that life can be a little hard. That little girl who talked too much (and maybe still does😊), who wasn't afraid, who just knew she could do anything because Jesus takes care of everything! I sometimes want to close my eyes, sink back in, and just remember her. I want to talk to her, to feel her untainted excitement. I want to dance with Jesus, sing His praises, twirl with Him in the rain, and just run where He would have me run...without hesitating. He will be waiting to help me when needed, and He will catch me if I fall. I'm still that little girl. I see her...He sees me...and He sees you!
Jeremiah 29:11..."For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Ephesians 3:20...Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. The Passion Translation says He will exceed your wildest imagination!
Oh, praise God for his plans for me, and for you!
